Surfboards by Todd Pinder

"Free Bird"

"Free Bird"

A performance-oriented glider built for speed, maneuverability, and versatility.

[Recommended Size]
10'0-12'0

[Who Is This Board For?]
Surfers who love gliders but want more speed and maneuverability
Riders looking for a more performance-oriented big board
Ideal for those who want versatility through multiple fin setups

[Design & Feel]
The Free Bird combines a pronounced rocker with Todd's traditional glider bottom, then takes things further with a deep, wide single concave beginning about a third of the way back from the nose and running through the belly.

A double concave is set within the single toward the tail, directing water through the fins and into the swallow tail.

The result is a more dynamic bottom design than Todd's traditional gliders, while still maintaining the glide and flow expected from a board of this size.

The fin setup adds another dimension to the design. A long center box and multiple FCS plugs allow the Free Bird to be ridden as a twin fin, single fin, 2+1, or thruster, giving the rider plenty of room to experiment.

[Performance]
Compared with the Zeppelin, the Free Bird is designed to get more performance out of the glider platform.

The deeper concaves, swallow tail, increased rocker, and versatile fin setup give it more speed and maneuverability while maintaining the glide of a big board.

Run it as a twin for a faster, looser feel, or experiment with a single fin, 2+1, or thruster setup to change the way the board responds.
