Gordon & Smith x Todd : Built on Tradition (2/3)

[Behind Every Board]
I've been working with G&S since late 2020, and one of the things I appreciate most is the people behind every board.

A lot of the crew came from Diamond Glassing, bringing decades of experience and craftsmanship into every step of the process. When I send boards through G&S, I know it's going to pass through the hands of people who have spent their lives perfecting their craft.

As a shaper, that's an incredible feeling.

I can focus on creating the best possible blank, knowing the laminating, sanding, glossing, and finishing will be handled by some of the best craftsmen in the world.

That trust gives me the confidence to experiment, refine details, and continue pushing my own designs forward.

Working with G&S is also a reminder that surfboards have always been a collaborative effort.

Working alongside such an experienced crew is always inspiring. Watching how they approach every step of the process reminds me that there's always something to learn, and that mindset carries over into every board I build back home in Hawaii.

Every time I visit San Diego, it feels less like visiting a factory and more like catching up with a crew of people who genuinely care about making the best surfboards they can.

Good boards come from good people.

I'm lucky to work with some of the best.
